Kep Sweeney

Kep is the founder and managing partner of Acceleron Group. Acceleron has led the restructuring efforts for more than $5.0 billion in liabilities with clients across the country in the restaurant, hotel, hospitals, commercial real estate, biotech, biometric and gaming industries, among others.

Kep is currently the interim CEO of AlertID. He has led projects where he developed analytics products for Citi Group and worked at Salomon Brothers in New York City as an equity research analyst.

Kep has appeared on CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg TV and many local news shows. Kep has an MBA from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He's the author of The New Restaurant Entrepreneur: An Inside Look at Restaurant Deal-Making and Other Tales from the Culinary Trenches, published by Dearborn Press.

Kep's passion for the restaurant industry led him to receive an award from Julia Child to attend the Cordon Bleu in London, be featured as a chef in Bon AppetiteFood and Wine and Travel and Leisure, and a 6-year James Beard voter.


Ken Wiles, PhD, CFA

Ken has been the president, COO or CFO for more than 10 companies, two of which were taken public by JP Morgan and Bear Sterns respectively, and one was sold to Oracle Corporation.  Ken manages a restructuring firm, operates a money management firm, has worked at three investment banking firms, and was a finance professor at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for 17 years. He has raised more than $200 million in private capital for growing companies, and has led corporate restructurings exceeding more than $4 billion.  Ken is a certified valuation and interest rate expert in federal bankruptcy court.  He was the Chief Restructuring Officer of Turnberry/MGM Grand Towers, LLC, which concluded a multi-year bankruptcy process in 2017.  He is also on the Investment Committee at LBJ Advisors.

Ken is also the Associate Director of the Hick, Muse Tate & Furst Center for Private Equity Finance, and a Clinical Associate Professor of Finance at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.  He has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Finance Economics and The Journal of Applied Corporate Finance,and received numerous teaching awards, including the 2016 Master of Science in Finance Faculty Award and the 2016 and 2017 BBA Faculty Honor Roll at UT.

Ken was appointed by Governor Brian Sandoval and, from 2011 until 2018, was the Chairman of the Nevada Economic Forum, which estimates the level of state revenues that all agencies of the state, including the Governor and Nevada Legislature, are required to use when preparing the state’s budget.  

He holds a PhD in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
